30 Day Music Challenge: Day 02

September 2nd, 2010

Your least favorite song: I don’t really have one of these. There are songs that I hear and go “WTH”, but then I never bother listening to them again so they don’t really stick in my mind. If I dislike a song I avoid it at all costs. The only song that comes to my mind right now that I dislike is “It Kills Me” by Melanie Fiona. I really like her and she has a great voice, but that song is trash. And the funny thing is that when you first hear it you don’t know it’s trash because her voice is so great and the melody is nice. But once you start hearing the words you can see how lame it actually is.

I couldn’t imagine singing something so pathetic. Lyrics like “I know you messin’ around, but who the hell else is gonna hold me down” makes this song lame to me. Who sings about knowing a man is cheating on them but still wanting to have their babies. Smh. And if he’s cheating on you, is he really holding you down? Such a waste of talent. The song is catchy though! :D

Outer Banks Dream Vacation!!

September 2nd, 2010

Outer BanksI’ve been saying for a while now that I could really use a vacation and after checking out this amazing house in North Carolina I’m in awe. The pictures of this house on the Carolina Designs’ website will truly make you wish you called that place home. I absolutely love the design of the house. It has an old country charm that you don’t find in many rental homes. I love the beautiful wood decor. It’s funny because If I owned a house like that I would use many of the same furniture pieces. The openness of the rooms are my favorite. Who wants to vacation in a cluttered space!

Outer BanksI also love the large pool. I can just imagine unwinding in that pool after the long and hot summer I’ve had. The only bad thing about staying in a place like that would be leaving! I would seriously have to consider moving to North Carolina after that. If I could stay in one of these Outer Banks vacation rentals I would take my mom and my Goddaughter with me. We’ve all had a pretty rough year so far and I couldn’t imagine a better place to relax and regroup right about now. Check out some more of the gorgeous scenery from the Outer Banks home courtesy of Carolina Designs.

30 Day Music Challenge: Day 01

September 1st, 2010

Your favorite song: I don’t actually have one favorite song. There are songs that I really love and can listen to them over and over again, but I don’t know if I’d be able to choose one out of all of them. I also go through a lot of phases. A song will be my favorite for a few weeks and then I’ll move on. But my favorite song would probably be something by Mariah Carey. Last.fm says my most listened to song is “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey, but that has never been a favorite. When it came out I was just so happy Mimi was back that I listened to it over 4,000 times. I really can’t stand it much now though. ;) Some of my favorite songs of the moment are…

  • Alicia Keys – Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)
  • Sara Bareilles – King Of Anything
  • Sara Bareilles – Hold My Heart
  • Eminem – Love The Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna)
  • Joel Auge – Miracle Love
  • Corinne Bailey Rae – Enchantment
  • Mariah Carey – Mine Again
  • Lisa Lavie – Need You Now (feat. David Sides)
  • Kathryn Scott – Come Back Home (feat. Brian Doerksen)
  • Jazmine Sullivan – Holding You Down (Goin’ In Circles)

Game Playing…

September 1st, 2010

I’m the only person I know who has never owned any typing of gaming system. Even as a child. My cousins owned them and I would play with theirs occasionally, but I never really had the desire to play those things often. I was always much more fond of designing clothing, doing puzzles, and being creative with my hands and mind. I never really thought about having fun with a game. Whenever I did play the game systems I did have a lot of fun though. But I would always play Jeopardy or something like that. I admit I also loved Mario Brothers.

It’s funny because I think more about game systems now that I’m older than I ever did as a child. I guess that’s because it makes me think of my youth. And it would be nice to own something like a playstation 3 to kill time when I’m bored and unwind with when I’m stressed out. I wonder if it would be weird to own my first game system in my twenties!
