Protective Hair Styles
Today I’m going to start taking out my braids and I’m really not looking forward to it. My mom put these braids in my hair about two weeks ago and I want to take them down so I can wash them. I usually don’t braid my hair because I prefer twists, but she wanted to braid my hair to see how long it’s grown. My hair has been growing so good lately. Cutting my hair off and going natural was a great decision. At the time I was a little nervous, but my hair has been thriving in this natural state.
I don’t think I’ll be doing these braids too often though. Even though braids make great protective styles they can also be reasons for hair loss. Not to mention they’re so time consuming. It takes about two or three hours to get them and it takes me as long to take them out. I think I’ll just get braids once a month when I’m in my old school Alicia Keys mood.
