Skeptical And Afraid…
My mom and I have so much in common that it’s kind of spooky. We like most of the same things and have many of the same characteristics. I don’t think I could deny her even if I wanted to! Another thing we have in common is our dislike of hospitals and doctor’s offices. I’ve been really sick for a while and every day she tries to get me to go to the doctor and I just won’t do it. Sometimes I feel as if I’m going to collapse right there and I’ll argue reasons why I don’t need to go. She’s the same way.
I’m not sure what her real reasons are for not wanting to go, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t similar to mine. Besides my general fears and jadedness towards doctors, I’m also concerned about the cost of hospital stays since I don’t have insurance. I’ve looked into insurance quotes a little and I’m not sure it’s something that I can afford right now, unfortunately.
