Thinking About Forever

I remember when “Empire State of Mind” came out and Jay-Z performed the song on some show and everyone kept saying “that girl looks and sounds like Alicia Keys, but…” As a recovering Alicia Keys stan, I of course knew it wasn’t her, it was the lovely Bridget Kelly who often filled in for AK, which I’m sure everyone knows by now. I really liked BeeKay from the first time I discovered her YouTube channel almost two years ago. It’s nice to see her actually release a single. And it’s a great single. I guess Frank Ocean will be the new Ne-Yo, writing great soulful ballads for R&B singers. Nice! I hope she actually gets a release date. I’m getting kind of worried about those Roc Nation artists!

What a lucky day for me! My favorite band decided to cover one of my favorite songs ever by one of my favorite singers ever. Awesome. I’m so happy everyone loves this song and Adele. I remember when I first fell in love with her around the end of 2007 or January of 2008. It may have even been before that. But now she’s more popular than ever. I wish the same thing could happen to Chrisette Michele and Sara Bareilles. They are some of my other underrated faves. I guess I can’t call Adele underrated anymore! At any rate, I love this cover! Chester’s voice is so amazing. Not too many people can do this song justice but he does!

There is nothing more satisfying than watching a grown man cry. If it comes after a long-winded, poorly conceived rant about some long-winded conspiracy theory, it is even more satisfying. Although even most conservatives feel Glenn Beck’s opinions are unreasonable and way out there, they may still tune into watch his Fox News on their satellite television from www.direc4u.com/direct-tv-deals.html. Antics such as using Jenga to explain the national debt help convey this image.

The short-haired slightly overweight person who can cry on demand! may not always make much sense, but I absolutely love whacked out conspiracy theories. If you watch his show, you can easily see him featuring into movies like National Treasure and the Da Vinci code. If you’re a long-time science fiction fan, you can easily see him as a character in the Illuminatus Trilogy or Schroedinger’s Cat.

In the interest of complete honesty, I should mention that I can only take his show for so long. His misunderstanding of net neutrality and what it means irritates me. If he’s going to be right on at least one thing, he could at least look up what the phrase actually means so he can learn why net neutrality is a bad thing.

Musically: I Wouldn’t Know

A song that you wish you heard on the radio: As I mentioned before, I don’t listen to the radio, so I have no idea what they play or don’t play. But while we’re on the topic, I never really understood why people get upset when a radio station doesn’t play a song that they like. Why not just download the song and play it yourself? That’s so crazy to me. I can understand a musician being affected by whether or not a radio station plays their music, but it hardly affects me. If I had my wish though, every radio station would play Adele! Even the urban stations.
