If you live in the North Carolina area or you’re just interested in the location you have to check out digtriad.com. Today was my first time visiting the website and I honestly love it. The site offers so much information about things happening in the Greensboro, Highpoint and Winston-Salem area of North Carolina.

I don’t even live in North Carolina and I still found myself interested in this website. The site offers local news and headlines, information about restaurants and dining, local events and so much more. There’s even a feature on digtriad.com called Watercooler that tells you about stories you’ll definitely be talking about at work tomorrow. If that’s not enough, you can even find video, photos, stories, forums and blogs. This website has everything! I wish we had a website like this for New Jersey.

First Friday Artwalk Weekend
November 25th, 2007 @ 11:57 pm

Tags: , ,

Everyone who knows me knows that I love art. It’s one of my favorite things in the world. I don’t really have a favorite medium of art, I just love all of it. I’d really enjoy it if I could visit St. Augustine Artwalk. If you have no idea what that is, don’t feel bad. I just recently discovered it and I’m glad that I did. Basically, St. Augustine Artwalk is all about music and art. It’s an event that will first take place on Friday and Saturday, December 7th and 8th, and then continue on the first weekend of each month thereafter.

The St. Augustine Artwalk will feature the latest and greatest art exhibits. It’s the place where artists and art lovers of all kinds can get together and enjoy themselves. There are over 20 galleries that will be participating in this event. Visitors will be able to enjoy music, entertainment and refreshments.

If you’re worried about transportation during the event, no need to be. St. Augustine Sightseeing Trains and Old Town Trolley Tours will be offering attendees a complimentary ride to some of the participating galleries during the First Friday Weekend Art Walk event.

I was reading about the St. Augustine Artwalk and they’ll be quite a few great artists featured. I’d love to see some of their work in person. If you have a chance to visit St. Augustine, Florida, make sure you check out the First Friday Artwalk Weekend event!

Hannah Montana at the Houston Rodeo
November 14th, 2007 @ 11:09 pm

If you ask most adults without children who Hanah Montana is, they’ll have no clue. But I have a young Goddaughter, so I’m quite familiar with Hannah Montana, the character played by actress and singer Miley Cyrus. I will be the first to admit that as recently as six months ago I had no idea who Hannah Montana was. It was while shopping for my Goddaughter that I learned about her, but now I can’t stop hearing about her. She’s everywhere. She’s been getting amazing ratings on television, selling an astounding number of CDs at the store, and of course selling out every concert venue that she performs at.

My Goddaughter is so crazy about her, that’s why I would love more than anything to be able to take her to see Hannah Montana at the Houston Rodeo. Miley Cyrus (or Hannah Montana if you prefer) will be performing there early next year and there are actually tickets still available. Surprising, I know. The Houston Rodeo is world famous for being a place to enjoy the Rodeo, but it’s also well known for being a favorite concert venue of many musicians. If you have a special little person that loves Hannah Montana as much as my Goddaughter does, buy some tickets. Not only will they enjoy it, but you’ll enjoy it too.

Giants Spring Training Tickets
November 14th, 2007 @ 9:34 pm

Tags: , ,

When I was younger, I remember my uncle being one of the biggest baseball fans ever. He would watch every game that came on television and would always talk about attending the games in person. Because he was so enthusiastic about the sport I too started loving it. I used to always wish that I could go to a baseball game, but I was always afraid of getting hit by a ball way up in the stands. LOL. I would much rather go to a spring training game because you can see all of the players and enjoy the game, but you can still get really great seats. I was looking at this website today and they’re already selling Giants Spring Training tickets. If you’re a Giants fan, you should check it out.

Unite Against AIDS Video Contest
October 15th, 2007 @ 5:48 pm

Tags: , , ,

When I was in the sixth grade I had to do a report about the effect that AIDS has on children and women. At the time the disease seemed so foreign to me. Fast forward ten years and I know more then a handful of people who are living with the disease or has died from it. It’s so important to educate ourselves as well as the children of this world. It’s a known fact that children and teenagers respond to music and video. That’s why the music video based social network IndieMV - Music+People has joined forces with UNICEF to sponsor a youth video contest that aims to raise awareness for AIDS. The contest on IndieMV.com gives contestants a chance to create their own video statements about the impact of AIDS for a chance to win great prizes such as iPods, Wii’s, gift certificates, a trip to Montreal to see the UNICEF concert on Nov. 28 featuring Avril Lavigne, Sarah McLachlan, Corneille, and Angelique Kidjo. Please check out the information below, visit the site, enter the contest, do anything that you can to support the cause.
