Fear of Riding

I have a secret that I’m almost ashamed to admit. Want to know what it is? I’m in my late twenties and I still don’t know how to ride a bike. Sad, huh? I tried learning when I was younger, but that didn’t end so well. My mother let me go before I was ready and I crashed into a fence. Needless to say, not only was I extremely embarrassed, I was also shaken pretty bad. I never got on a bike again after that day. Pathetic, I know.

My mom was kind of disappointed too because my $100 bike stayed in a corner in our basement (we didn’t have Yakima bike racks) for about a year until she finally gave it to my cousin. I don’t have a bucket list yet, but when I do make one I’ll definitely add “learn to ride a bike to it.” It’s about time to face this fear!

A New Position

Lately, both my mom and I have been having problems with our jobs. She’s actually out of work right now. Her problems have her trying to figure out how to get a new job and my problems have me hoping I can just hang on to my job long enough to find something better. Last week I had a horrible scare at work and thought I was going to be let go, so I’m still a little on edge from that. Fortunately things are OK for now.

My mother works in the medical field, so she could probably find Medical Records Technician Jobs if she wanted, but I have no idea what I can find since there aren’t many jobs available in my field. I hate worrying so much about jobs and stuff. Maybe I should learn to do other things so I will have something to fall back on. I definitely need a new job position!

Another Family Addition

This past Sunday was my cousin Cherry’s baby shower. She’s expecting a little boy next month. I have mixed feelings about that, but I wish the best for her. I just want her and her son to be happy and healthy. I think I’m finally getting over the shock that she’s having a baby. Just in time, right? LOL. I’m surprised she got pregnant because the timing seems really bad.

I know a lot of my family was surprised when they received her baby shower invitations because some of them still hadn’t heard. There are some family members that probably won’t find out until they get a birth announcement in the mail. I’m really nervous for her and the stress that she’s going to have to endure being a young mother. I think she’s only 19, maybe 20. I love babies though and I can’t wait to meet her little guy.

Show That Bump!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but I have a huge obsession with babies and pregnant women. I love babies! Especially babies under one years old. Pregnant mommies are awesome too! I love seeing pregnant woman in their last trimester with their huge bellies. They’re so cute the way they waddle around. That’s probably why I always smile when I see maternity clothes online or in stores.

Speaking of pregnant women and babies, my cousin came by my house yesterday to see the family. She’s pregnant as well. She’s due at the end of August, but she’s not as big as I had hoped for. Lol. She kind of just looks fat. Her belly doesn’t look like most pregnant people. Maybe it was the outfit she had on. I like when women wear maternity clothes that emphasize their baby bump, not hide it!
