Online Classes

Online classes are the only way I’ve been able to go to college, to be honest with you. First of all I’m no good at sitting in a lecture hall taking notes and listening to some old man talk for hours at a time so it’s helpful for me to be able to study when I’m ready to study and not when I’m told I have to. I got Clear Internet so I can actually do my coursework online whenever I’ve got the time and I don’t necessarily have to be at the library or whatever and that’s made it much better for my schedule as a whole. I think it’s important to continue your education but for me it’s been really hard juggling everything I’ve got going on in my life right now AND school, too. I can’t wait to graduate and just be able to use my degree to open doors I wouldn’t otherwise be able to open – that’s the point of doing all this and going through so much hassle to get where I am.

Who Reads The Newspaper These Days?

Thanks for the post from Sylvester Campbell

I sometimes wonder what the most common way to access the news is these days. I know that most people probably watch television in the morning or at night when they get home to catch their news but do people still sit around the breakfast table in the morning with their coffee and toast and read the paper? I can’t tell you the last time I actually read a newspaper. It don’t think that it is people care less about what is going on in the world around them so much as it is people are wanting to access their news in a different way. For me I use http://get.wildblue.com/ to read the news I care about. I can go online to my local news provider and they have a website with all the day’s local news, from the cow that got out onto the highway and caused a three car pileup to the bad weather that is coming our way from the next state over. I can also check other things like the weather or local government issues.

Boyfriend

Thanks to Lemuel Craft

My boyfriend moved into a new house last month, and if you saw the looks of his place, you think he’d only just moved. It’s not at all surprising to me, because he was in his last house for 3 years and he still had boxes that had never been unpacked when he began packing to move this time. When we first got together, I found the not-caring kind of endearing, but since that time I’ve grown determined that he needs to care and I need to make it my mission to change this about him. I know that doesn’t at all sound like the kind of things that should be happening in a relationship, but if you knew just how much it was affecting his life (at 28-years-old), you’d agree with me. The other day he was going to come meet me for lunch and I told him the name of the restaurant. He kept calling me and calling me to ask for directions. I was frustrated, and when he got to the restaurant I asked why he didn’t look it up before he left the house. Then he told me he hadn’t gotten around to setting up his internet. I went straight home and logged on to http://www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/hughesnet/Florida/B/Brooksville/ and walked him through the set up process. It was a small step, but I like to think we’re at least moving in the right direction.

Splurging to see Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway

Guest post written by Henrietta Bowerman

Now, there aren’t many things that my husband likes to splurge on, but every now and then you just have to make those few exceptions. Well, one of the ones that we’ve decided to make lately is when we went to New York on a family vacation trip and decided to see a Broadway play. But we just didn’t want to see any kind of Broadway play. We wanted to see the Harry Potter actor in his play!

My husband saw that his play was one of the pricier ones, so we decided to do a lot of investigation on how to get the cheapest tickets possible. While I was looking online for that, I saw the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/hearing-locations/north-carolina/. After I looked through it a little bit, I decided to show it to my husband. I’m always telling him that he could use hearing aids, so he actually did through the website.

The How to Succeed in Business play really was very entertaining. Not only did we see Harry Potter, but it was a lot of great dancing. Plus, it kept the kids happy which is what so much of family vacation entails.
