Return of Peace

I think it’s amazing how one person can make things really bad for everyone else. We have these neighbors who are so noisy! Ever since they moved into the neighborhood everything has changed. Before they came it was so peaceful and now it’s just chaos most of the time. I have a strong desire to buy one of those cheap yard signs that have very direct messages on them to show them how I truly feel. Something like “Stay Away” or “Be Quiet” or “Respect Your Neighbors!”… or something. But the funny thing is, it’s not even the neighbors themselves that are causing the problems. It’s their son that comes to visit them. SMH. I know for a fact he’s the problem because he’s been gone for a while and it’s been so quiet lately. I don’t know where he went but I hope he stays there for a long time! I enjoy the peace and tranquility!

I’ve been living in New Jersey all my life and I still can’t think of one good thing to say about it. Maybe that’s why? Either way, I hate it here. This state is so expensive and really doesn’t have much to offer. Or perhaps I just haven’t discovered what so many others see in it. I know NJ is famous for having high car insurance rates but we also have high rent, taxes and gas and electricity.

I can’t tell you how many times people from those companies that offer to lower your electricity bill has come to my house and told us we’re getting ripped off. They even show us on the bill how we’re being overcharged and we can’t do anything about it. I think everyone should be able to choose their electricity supplier and save money. I know Connecticut electricity offers a program like that but I’m not sure what other states do. They should offer that everywhere though!

One of the downsides of living in my current home is that we don’t have a garden like we had in our last house. I used to love having that great garden in that huge backyard. We had so many flowers in our yard. We even had a few rose bushes with pink and red roses. Those we my favorite. When I was younger I kind of took that stuff for granted, but now I really miss it.

Hopefully one day we will be able to plant a garden again. It would be nice to use one of those composters to make our own compost. We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so it would be no trouble to start composting. And who wouldn’t want free organic fertilizer? I bet that would result in some really nice flowers! I’d also love to grow herbs. We use a ton of parsley, basil, and other herbs in everything that we cook. Growing our own would save a lot of money.

Floor Hassle

I am so ready to get rid of the carpeting on my floor. I generally don’t mind carpeting, but I hate the carpeting that is in my bedroom. The bedrooms are the only rooms in my house that still have carpeting. We got rid of the carpeting in the living room a couple of years ago. The only reason my mom and I haven’t taken up the carpets in our bedrooms is because we have too much stuff and it would be too much of a hassle to move everything out and back in again.

That’s the same reason I haven’t decided to paint my room again. It’s too much trouble. The only time I’ll move everything out of this room is if /when I move. Trust me, as much as I would love wood, tile or laminate flooring in my bedroom instead of this carpet, I can’t imagine doing that right now. I know one thing though, my next bedroom better not have carpeting!
