Floor Hassle

I am so ready to get rid of the carpeting on my floor. I generally don’t mind carpeting, but I hate the carpeting that is in my bedroom. The bedrooms are the only rooms in my house that still have carpeting. We got rid of the carpeting in the living room a couple of years ago. The only reason my mom and I haven’t taken up the carpets in our bedrooms is because we have too much stuff and it would be too much of a hassle to move everything out and back in again.

That’s the same reason I haven’t decided to paint my room again. It’s too much trouble. The only time I’ll move everything out of this room is if /when I move. Trust me, as much as I would love wood, tile or laminate flooring in my bedroom instead of this carpet, I can’t imagine doing that right now. I know one thing though, my next bedroom better not have carpeting!

I Guess I’m Stuck Here

I think I’m starting to accept the great possibility that I will never, ever, ever get out of New Jersey. Even if I move I’ll probably be stuck here. So sad. I don’t want my obituary to say “lifelong resident of New Jersey.” That’s horrible. I hate this state so much! I actually entertained the thought of moving to Pennsylvania to be near my Goddaughter but I don’t think that’s going to happen now. No soon as we really got the thought in our heads good, my other cousins moved there.

I really don’t want to go there if the whole family plans to end up out there. That’s defeating the purpose of leaving Jersey. I hope eventually we’ll at least be able to look at homes for rent in NJ. I may have to just accept defeat on this one. But then again, we never know what the future holds for us.

Little Miss Active

My little cousin came over on Wednesday — as she does every week — and we had a pretty good time. It’s weird because as she gets older she’s so much easier to deal with in one way, yet harder to deal with in another. For instance, she’s becoming more independent and doesn’t cry as much, so it’s less stressful. But on the other hand, since she’s becoming so independent I’m constantly running after her. That’s not hard, but it’s definitely stressful when I’m tired or sick.

She’s so active. She’s the reason that they created yard gates and fence pools. She gets into everything! Even though I’m so tired by the time she goes home, I wouldn’t trade my Wednesdays with her for anything. She’s the coolest kid. And I know as she gets older it will get easier. I’ll have to keep her busy with books, art and stuff like that. I don’t want her to have an idle mind!

Know Where To Search

A few days ago, my little cousin sent me a message asking me to help her find an apartment to move into. I checked a few websites and looked at a few apartments but there doesn’t seem to be anything good available. At least not in her budget. It’s really hard trying to look for an apartment for someone else when you are not sure what they want exactly. I think it would make much more sense for her to just look online for herself. Especially since we don’t even live close to each other. If I was looking for apartments for rent in Edmonton, I would check a website that specialized in that, such as RentEdmonton.com. I wouldn’t ask someone who didn’t live in the area of Edmonton and knew nothing about it.

Rent Edmonton is a great example of a helpful apartment search website. Once you decide where in Edmonton you want to live, you can browse many listings that include pictures and other important information. You can even filter your search results by the type of rental you are looking for, such as condos, town houses or duplexes. Some listings that I checked out even stated that the property was near schools and parks, or recently renovated. Now that is what I call helpful! I really wish my cousin would find a similar website that lists rentals in locations that she is interested in moving to instead of asking me to search for her. That would make things so much easier for the both of us.
