Jordin’s Not So Great Debut

A couple of weeks ago Jordin Sparks released an album that in my opinion was not up to par. It definitely was not something that I expected. After hearing Leona Lewis’ album I had high hopes for Jordin. I pretty much knew Jordin’s album would bomb because Tattoo is a good song, but I didn’t really see that as a first single. And as you well know, the best single is usually the first single. After listening to Jordin’s album I see why they released Tattoo as the first single… it is the best song on the album. Sad.

The other thing that lead me to believe that Jordin’s project would fail is the fact that they didn’t release a video for Tattoo until the last minute. The song was pretty much out of rotation when they released the video. In my opinion, the American Idol people screwed Jordin. They gave Jordin songs like God Love Ugly (WTF) while giving Leona several potential hit singles. It’s bad when an album and Idol that isn’t even released in this Country gets more attention and praise than the Idol who is.

Jordin Sparks Debuts Her “Tattoo”

This week, American Idol’s most recent winner Jordin Sparks is set to release her brand new single “Tattoo”. The song will make its debut on AOL’s PopEater on Friday and will hit radio on Monday. I’m really looking forward to hearing her new single as well as her album. Judging by the success of past American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood, Jordin has a lot to live up to. In normal Jordin Sparks fashion, she’s taking things in stride. About her upcoming project, she had this to say “They’ve risen the bar so high and I’m like, ‘I hope I can reach it,’”…. “I’m trying to reach it! I just really hope that when my CD comes out it’ll be great and maybe as good as theirs. And hopefully it’ll sell well and people will like it.” I don’t know about that, because Jordin’s American Idol single bombed on the charts. But hopefully her first official single will be better.

Corey Clark Is So Messy

I always knew that Corey Clark (of American Idol fame) was a bad seed. I mean yeah, he’s kind of cute, or at least he used to be. But when he sold Paula Abdul out I knew he was very flawed. Now I’m reading online today that he’s been arrested again. He was already wanted in Arizona for missing court in a prior case, but now he’s been arrested for possession of a controlled substance, as well as drug paraphernalia in Arkansas. WTF. This dude just can’t do right. I don’t know what it is about him. I guess he realizes that his homie Ne-Yo’s career has taken off, he’s sold Paula out and he still can’t win. Why can’t being the bag boy at the local Stop & Shop be good enough for some people!!!!

Welcome To Fame, Jordin

I was reading this article and apparently some lady named Melissa Black told Star magazine that despite what Jordin Sparks says on her American Idol biography about not having formal training that she actually did. Melissa says that Jordin was 14 years old when she studied with her back in 2004. She also goes on to say that Jordin’s mom, Jodi Sparks, and her grandmother, Pam Wiedmann — who acts as her manager, found her on the Internet and they worked together for nine months doing intense vocal work, with Jordin taking one 30-minute class a week at $25 per class. The lady then said she was “hurt for a week” when Jordin said that she hadn’t had any formal training. “Jordin didn’t have to mention my name, but at least acknowledge you had training! But I’ve moved on, and I hold my head up high.” So, that’s a big deal? Maybe Jordin didn’t consider that to be formal training. LOL. I don’t know. Jordin should have known the haters would come out soon. Leave Jordin alone. Geez.
