Confidence In What I Buy
April 20th, 2012 Posted 12:31 pm
I love the Internet so much. I don’t know where I would be without it. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times daily I search for something and find great answers. There have been a few things that I couldn’t find, but for the most part I can find answers to anything I may want to know. That would be impossible without the Internet. Today I’ve been using the Internet to search for a new phone. I love being able to read reviews before I settle on one thing. Honestly, reading a review usually determines whether I buy something or not. A bad review is a real deterrent.
Case in point, if you were thinking of buying Natadrol, reading Natadrol reviews online would make you think twice. I’m not too familiar with the product, but the review that I read made me question it a lot. I like to have confidence in products that I buy, and a bad review can be a deal breaker for sure.

Spotty Connection

The Wireless Internet service at my job is so ridiculous. I don’t know why it never works properly, but it is always throwing a wrench in my day. Some days it just works really slow, and other days it is spotty and doesn’t work at all at certain times. It is really important that I have a working internet connection for work because I do a lot of research, and I have to keep in touch with my clients. Most of the research tools I use are online, so when the internet connection isn’t working I can’t get anything done. It is also hard to keep up with client emails and sometimes they get annoyed. I tried to talk to my boss about changing companies to something more reliable, but he says he is stuck in a long-term contract. I get so angry when I think about paying all this money to a company that doesn’t provide good service. Some of them really get you with these contracts. My boss said he would call them and complain about the service, so I can only help something gets better.

Personalized Gifts

I got an e-mail on my phone this morning that there was a big stationery sale on-line. When I came home, I logged onto the site using my clear wireless internet connection and got all of my family’s birthday gifts handled for the rest of the year. I went to town. I ordered my mom and my sister a personalized post-it note set with about fifteen hundred post-it notes for only twenty bucks! Post-its will be good for them too, because they are both so forgetful. If they don’t write it down, they won’t remember. I ordered my mother-in-law the same thing. They came in pink so they were extra cute! I ordered my husband and my dad some embossed note cards and personalized legal pads. I ordered my father-in-law something a little different. He loves to take pictures and I found a novelty card that had an old camera at the top of the note card. I just can’t wait for everything to come in. I think that everyone will be really happy with their birthday gifts this year because they are so thoughtful!

Plug Out…
February 5th, 2012 Posted 3:41 pm
I really appreciate the WordPress Plugin Directory because I’ve been able to download a lot of great plugins that improve the functionality of my site. I’m also very grateful to the developers who work hard to make these great plugins available (typically) for free. You really can’t beat that. However, with that said, I do have a complaint. I really wish people who develop some of these plugins would pay greater attention to the product they put forth. If you don’t have the time or ability to make a plugin the right way, don’t do it. Although most of these plugins are free, and I guess you get what you pay for, we don’t expect plugins to break our sites or screw them up.
There is nothing worse than having a plugin screw your site up after you’ve installed an update. Most of the times the issues are reversible, but if a plugin creates files and pages on your site it can be such a hassle, as I’m discovering. This is a small complain though because most of the plugins do work great. And for that, I’m thankful!
