I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next month. I’m really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year because we’re not supposed to be having a big gathering. I know most people look forward to having a huge gathering but I’m so relieved that we’re not doing that this year. My family has been having so many dinner parties all year long and they’re such a huge hassle. You would think that the guests would contribute a little more than they do, but that’s not the case with my family. When it comes to family gatherings and food my family is very inconsiderate.

Usually when Thanksgiving is being hosted at our house everything falls on us. We have to buy the food, cook the food and do all of the cleaning. It would be nice if everyone in the family bought a dish of food, condiments, beverages, paper plates & forks or something. Or in the least, offer to help clean up. If they did that it would be nice to have a big gathering. But my family shows up empty-handed and leaves with a sweet potato pie and enough food for two days. That is not fair!! So this year Thanksgiving is on them!

If you know me then you know that I’m an extremely cynical person. It’s something that most people like about me but I guess it’s something that can also being annoying at times. In the past I used to take life so seriously and I would always be guarded when I said things but that’s definitely not the case any more. I guess the older I get the more I realize that life is what you make it. If you’re too serious life is no fun. That’s why my serious nature has been replaced with a more sarcastic and cynical nature.

I think that also comes from going through a lot in life. I’ve learned to just deal with what I have. Sometimes my cynical side turns people off because they don’t get the joke. Maybe I act too nonchalant when a situation doesn’t call for it. Oh well!! LOL life is too short to be miserable. My life isn’t that great but I make the best of it. Sometimes you have to walk around with funny t-shirts on and a smile on your face to get through life. To me that’s better than walking around with a frown or scowl on your face! Don’t you think?

I think it’s really cool how a company can come up with a slogan for their product that can help you remember the product even when you’re not thinking about it. I think sometimes companies come up with commercials and campaigns that are so funny that you forget what the product is and only remember the commercial. I can’t tell you how many times that has happened to me and I’m sure I’m not alone.

Sometimes I’ll be talking with my friends and I’ll mention a commercial that was so funny. We’ll go back and forth performing the whole commercial and then when we try to remember what product the commercial was for we draw a complete blank. LOL. That’s not good. If you’re smart you’ll create a campaign or slogan that makes the person remember your company. For instance, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten dressed up in a nice outfit and recited the phrase “Like my body? It’s Trimspa baby!!” LOL. That’s unforgettable!

It’s about 7:30a on a gorgeous Tuesday morning and I’m already spent. I went to sleep pretty early last night but I don’t think I really got a good night of sleep. I don’t know what my problem is. Ever since I was sick for the past two weeks my sleep pattern has been really thrown off. For the past two weeks I found myself sleeping about 16 hours every night. It was so weird. I usually get about that much sleep in a week, not a day. Now that I’m starting to feel better I’m hoping that the fatigue will go away and I’ll have more energy.

I’m usually a morning person but trust me these past two weeks I haven’t been an ‘anytime’ person. Last night I think I got about 5 hours of sleep but right now I feel really groggy. I feel like those people that you see in the morning rushing to work. The ones that will run you over on their way to get their cup of Starbucks coffee so that they can get that pick me up! LOL That’s the kind of pick me up I need. Where’s my Starbucks coffee this morning!!!
