Elements Bath & Body

I’m a cheap person, but I’m also really creative. That’s why when I was around ten I told my mom that I wanted to make my own soap. I used to notice that we had old bar soaps that were going to waste and I knew there had to be a way to turn them into usable liquid soap. I’m now in my twenties and I still love to make homemade soap. If I had the right supplies I’d be unstoppable.

That brings me to a great website that I just found out about today. The website is called Elements Bath & Body and it’s basically a provider of wholesale soap making supplies and recipes as well as a variety of other bath and body supplies. This website carries everything you need to make soap and toiletry products. Some of the stuff you can expect to find include lip balm tubes, waterproof vinyl labels, cloth bags, lavender buds , and so much more. I’m so happy I found this website. I knew that I was on to something, even at ten!

If you’re interested in making your on bath & body products, support a family-owned and operated company and buy from Elements Bath & Body!

Mix A Drink
November 2nd, 2007

Tags: ,

I’m not a big drinker, but I do like to have a drink on occasion. One of the drinks that I like is rum. I’ve used the Absolut brand of rum in the past to mix some of my favorite drinks. I’m a fruity rum drinks kind of girl. My favorite drink to make with Absolut rum is a strawberry daiquiri. I really don’t think it gets any better than that. Whenever I go out to a restaurant that’s usually my beverage of choice as well. I’ve never really made my drinks on my own, so I could definitely use some tips on how to make them.

I found out today that Absolut has a website called Absolutdrinks.com and on the website is this cool flash application that allows you to mix your own drink right on the site. This is so cool because Absolut has one of the worlds largest drink databases, and you can mix tons of drinks. The drink that I mixed was called Cocktail Team Raspmango. I love this drink. It consists of mango puree, passion fruit syrup, raspberry puree and lemon. Doesn’t that sound delicious!

If you want some cool ideas for how to mix your drinks or you just want to give the Absolut drink mixer a try, visit the website. Remember, you have to be 21 to drink in most places.

Caramel Pecan Brownies
March 18th, 2007

Tags:

Brownies might just be my favorite snack. Here’s a quick and easy recipe for amazing brownies. Don’t forget, brownies should be chewy, not hard. They will harden as they cool, so don’t over bake them!!

Here’s what you’ll need:
1 brownie mix (for 9×13 pan)
1 cup caramel apple dip
1 cup chopped pecans

Preparation:
Prepare brownie batter according to directions on box. Spread half the batter in greased 9×13 pan. Warm caramel dip in microwave until it is pourable (20-30 seconds). Drizzle a layer of caramel over brownie batter, staying 1 inch away from pan sides. Cover with chopped pecans, if desired. Spoon remaining brownie batter over caramel, spreading carefully to cover. Bake about 35 minutes.

Strawberry-Banana Fruit Smoothie
March 18th, 2007

Tags:

I love smoothies. They’re quick and easy to make and they taste great. You can pretty much use any type of fruit you may love to make yours, but this particular one is made with strawberries and bananas. I’m not a huge fan of bananas, especially mushed up, but here’s a great recipe that you may enjoy. Try it out!

Ingredients:
1 large banana
2 handfuls of ripe strawberries
5 full tablespoons of applesauce
8-10 cubes of ice

Preparation:
Add ice and the applesauce. Crush the ice until substance is smoothie-like. Add the other ingredients. Enjoy

One of my favorite things to make when I was younger were pizza snacks. They’re really easy and fun to make. This recipe doesn’t include meat, but you can easily add pepperoni to spice things up a little. Check it out.

Serving Size: Makes 6 servings

Ingredients:
3 English muffins, split and toasted
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
3/4cup (3 ounces) shredded Italian cheese blend
Bell pepper strips (optional)

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place English muffin halves on ungreased baking sheet. Top each muffin with 1/4 cup tomatoes; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons cheese. Bake about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly browned. Garnish with bell pepper strips, if desired.
