Anyone who knows me know that I’m a huge basketball fan. I’ve loved basketball for as long as I can remember. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love to watch the games and root for my favorite teams. When I was younger I used to watch all the major sports with my uncle, but basketball was my favorite. I also used to love the Yankees and Giants as well. Now that I’m older I don’t watch those two sports much, but I still enjoy the hype surrounding the Superbowl and stuff like that.

The only thing I ever hear about concerning football lately is Tim Tebow. Not sure what he did to suddenly become so popular, but he has me considering looking online for 2012 NFL shop coupons so I can purchase his jersey and other merchandise. I want to be in the cool crowd too! ;P

I was reading some commentary on the issue of the New Orleans Hornets firing Byron Scott and I would just like to take time to express my displeasure with the situation! This isn’t as bad to me as Allen Iverson leaving the Memphis Grizzlies “indefinitely”, but it’s disappointing as well. I used to have a crush on Byron Scott when he coached my former favorite team the New Jersey Nets. Don’t judge me!!! But yeah, I digress.

I’ve always thought it was lame to fire coaches because players don’t play well. Yeah, I know it’s the coach’s job to motivate the player and blah, blah, blah — but some players are just bad. And some are lazy. And some are whatever most of the Knicks are. Is that the coach’s fault? How many time does a team get to fire a coach before you realize it’s just the players. Or something. I think instead of firing the coach they should start fining the players. Maybe the coach too, who knows.

All I do know is that if I do a bad job at work I don’t get paid. So they should start losing money. I’m sure losing money will motivate the players to play a little harder. :D Of course I know this isn’t a good solution and I’m only half serious, but there should be repercussions for players, not just the coach.

I am so depressed that the basketball season is starting to wind down. Now that both the Eastern and Western conference champions have been crowned, I have no basketball to watch every night. I was getting used to watching a playoff game every night. I’m really excited about the final series starting on Thursday between the Lakers and Magic, but I know once that’s over I will have nothing at all to watch. Booo.

In case you haven’t noticed by now, I love sports. Basketball is my favorite sport but I also love baseball. Of course my favorite team has always been the New York Yankees!! That’s the Jersey girl in me. They have some cute players on that team. LOL. I need to get my hands on some New York Yankees tickets this year so I can try to meet some of them. Not that I have a chance! I just want to see them in person! Hehe

Are the Olympics over? I think they are. I’m pretty sure I slept through the closing ceremonies. I’m am so over these Olympic games. The only thing I got out of these games is a slight disdain for the Chinese government. I’m so over China. Whatever. The only thing I really concerned myself with was the US basketball team which did really great. In fact our boys won the gold in case you haven’t noticed! In the past I used to look forward to the Olympic games but never again. Things are definitely not like they used to be. I can’t stand the way a lot of things happened in Beijing. If I was China I wouldn’t really be that proud. Just saying…
