More Computer Problems
December 7th, 2009 Posted 12:19 pm
Something is really wrong with my mom’s computer and I have no idea how to fix it. I’ve been trying to do PC restore, but because the computer is an older model it’s hard to find reliable tutorials that can properly explain how I should go about the process. I wish I would have upgraded that XP operating system to Vista when I had the chance. Another problem I’m having with the computer is that it wont connect to the Internet. I have one of those USB router things attached to it, but the computer doesn’t seem to recognize it. The main wireless router is in my room and I use one of those little USB router things for my mom. It was working just fine before I tried to do PC restore. I might have to just buy a new one.
I’m starting to think it would just be easier to buy a new computer and wireless router. Even if I do PC restore there is no guarantee that everything will work properly. If I can find a deal on a computer I may consider buying one early next year. I should also try pricing a Linksys router to see which kind of wireless router I should buy.

Computer Shopping Again!
November 21st, 2009 Posted 11:33 pm
I’m so happy that ‘black Friday’ is coming up soon. I really need a laptop or netbook. I was having so many problems with my desktop last week and it made me realize that I need a second computer in case of emergencies. It would also be great to have a laptop to carry around with me for work. My mom has a desktop computer (my old one), but if you follow my blogs I’m sure you know how I feel about that thing. That computer is for the birds. It’s about 6 years old and needs to be put down.
I usually only buy desktop computers because I prefer them over laptops, but I think a laptop would serve a greater purpose right now. If I were to get another desktop I would definitely get a Mac since I already have a PC. I’m still not sure what kind of laptop or netbook I’d get. I have to look around a bit more. I know a lot about desktop computers but I don’t know much about laptops so I have to figure out everything that I’m going to need. Hopefully I can find a deal during ‘black Friday’!

Computers Over Televisions!
September 30th, 2009 Posted 12:52 pm
I can’t believe that I haven’t watched television in about two months. I don’t even turn my television on anymore. There’s really no need to. I watch everything that I care about on my computer. Either I watch the videos a day later or I stream the shows live. Television has become so lame lately. I have little to no interest in watching anything. The only things I’ve watched recently were the MTV Video Music Awards and VH1′s Diva’s Live. I streamed those live on my computer. I’ve also watched a few episodes of Dancing With The Stars on the computer. I think I’m going to start watching my workout DVDs on my computer as well.
At the rate I’m going, I can probably get rid of my television all together. That will save me some space inside of my bedroom. I love computers. They’re definitely the best invention of my lifetime. I think. I’m hoping to invest in a new laptop next year. That way my mom can enjoy watching things on the computer as well. As I mentioned before, her computer isn’t good for much. LOL

Shoot This Computer!!
September 27th, 2009 Posted 8:29 pm
My mom needs a new computer bad. Her computer is on its last leg. It’s so slow that she only turns it on once a week because she doesn’t want to deal with the drama of having to wait for it to come on, wait for it to load, wait for it to follow her commands, and wait for it to shut down. No lie, it takes my mom about thirty minutes just to check her email. That’s sad. LOL. She’s gotten so that she just tells me to check it from my computer. If for some reason she needs to turn her computer on, she has to do it about ten to fifteen minutes before she plans to actually get on it. That way it has enough time to boot up. It’s a pretty painful experience.
Every now and then I’ll get on her computer to make sure her anti virus is up to date (like it matters), and I almost always feel like putting my fist through the screen out of frustration. I’ve been thinking about buying her some additional ram to speed the computer up, but since it’s a pretty old computer it might make more sense to just look for laptop deals. It doesn’t seem like a good idea to buy ram for a six year old computer. LOL.
