It's All Random

Kinda Over It!!

April 2nd, 2012

I think sometime when I wasn’t looking I became a tomboy. Or maybe I became a frustrated woman. Either way, I’ve definitely changed. When I was in my teens I was all about being girlie and pretty in pink. Now I could care less. I still get a little excited when I see pink clothing in my closet, but gone are the days when I try to dress up and look pretty. Now I just grab whatever feels comfortable. Maybe I’ve been single too long.

I guess if I was dating or in a relationship I’d put more into what I wear. Maybe I’d even buy sexy night gowns and lingerie corsets to make myself feel good. But since I’m not, I’m content with sleeping in old T-shirts. I just couldn’t care less about getting dolled up on most days. I’m a fan of natural beauty and comfort! :P And no, that’s not why I’m single!! LOL

She Has No Time For Me

April 2nd, 2012

I really miss my Goddaughter. It’s been awhile since I had a chance to speak to her on the phone. I hate that she’s growing up so fast. Now she’s too busy for me! She would much rather hang with her friends than spend time talking to her Godmother on the phone. I tried the whole texting her thing but that didn’t work out well either. Most of the time she just replies with one word answers. And even that takes her a long time. Example: Me: “Hey Goddaughter, I miss you. How have you been doing over there?” — 30 minutes later — Her: “Good.” SMH.

We’re going to have to do better. At the rate we’re going, we’ll need some kind of fancy video conferencing solutions just to bring us together. And even then she’ll probably forget to be home in time for us to do a conference call. Kids!

Autism Awareness Month

April 2nd, 2012

Autism AwarenessI wanted to take some time out to acknowledge the fact that yesterday was the start of Autism Awareness Month. Although we have sooo many children in my family, fortunately no one has been affected with autism. I do, however, know a few people who have children with autism and I know how difficult that can be. This post was inspired by the fact that I subscribe to a girl on YouTube who posted a video yesterday about Autism Awareness Month. She has two children who were diagnosed with it when they were toddlers. I admire her strength so much because I know how difficult having a child with autism can be for families.

I also appreciate the celebrities like Toni Braxton who have stepped out and supported Autism-related causes. For many people, the only time you see or hear about certain things is when celebrities back them or are affected by them. And of course as many people know, Toni’s son has autism. If you want to learn more about autism I definitely encourage you to visit AutismSpeaks.Org or just Google it. There is so much information available and so many ways you can support Autism-related causes.

PCs Rule

April 2nd, 2012

No matter how much technology changes and things improve, one thing stays the same. I love my desktop computer and I always will. I think so anyway. I may buy into whatever is currently hot in technology at the time, but I don’t think any smartphone, tablet, netbook, or the like will ever replace my desktop computer. I even use my desktop more than my laptop. In fact, I probably use the desktop at a ratio of 4 to 1. Or whatever. LOL.

The point is, PC desktops rule. And they probably always will. Even if you have a variety of other devices. I know I don’t plan to get rid of mine anytime soon. And even if I finally give in and buy that other brand of computers like I plan to, I’m still keeping a PC on hand.
